Softkeys on any Android device

Softkeys or on-screen navigation keys are available on many devices.Now if your hardware keys are not working properly or you want to experience softkeys then follow the steps below.I divided this steps into two categories, 1)For no root user & 2)For root user.
For root user before using this method take backup.For know, what files to backup click here for check my post on backup.

1)For no root user:-

If your device have no root then you can download listed apps for softkeys-

2)For root user:-

Before start remember that if anything goes wrong I will not responsible for this. Do at your own risk.For root user, there are two methods available-
  • Method 1:-
  1. Go to play download an app called Soft Button, click here for download.
  2. Open the app, grant root permission, now tap on Activate.
  3. Restart your device and your softkeys are now enabled.
  • Method 2(For advanced root user):-
  1. Install root explorer, click here for download.
  2. Open the app & grant root permission.
  3. Go to root/system/ folder.
  4. There you find a file call build.prop.
  5. Take a backup of the file build.prop for safety just in case something goes wrong.
  6. Long tap on the file and select open in text editor.
  7. Scroll down at the last of the file and add this line- qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 
  8. Save the file and restart your device. 
  9. For remove Softkeys open the build.prop file and remove the line you added.
  10. Now save the file and restart the device.
